1. What is Thermal CorkShield™ spray coating?
Thermal CorkShield™ spray coating is a revolutionary eco-friendly and energy-saving insulation coating that is made from natural cork and a blend of other natural components. It is applied as a spray and offers excellent insulation properties for both residential and commercial buildings.
2. How is the product applied?
Thermal CorkShield™ is spray-applied using a texture sprayer by one of our Certified Installers to ensure quality and consistency, every time.
3. How is Thermal CorkShield applied?
Thermal CorkShield spray coating can be applied using a commercial-grade spray machine or by hand using a spray gun. The coating should be applied in a textured pattern to ensure maximum coverage. It requires only a single coat to achieve excellent insulation results.
4. What are the benefits of Thermal CorkShield spray coating?
Thermal CorkShield spray coating offers numerous benefits, including energy savings by reducing heating and cooling costs, excellent insulation, mold and mildew resistance, noise reduction, and fire retardancy. It is also environmentally friendly and breathable, allowing moisture to escape from the walls, which helps prevent problems such as damp and condensation.
5. What colours are available?
We currently have 30+ colours to choose from. Custom colours are available upon request with select Certified Installers.
6. Will I have to modify my building to support the product?
No, 88% of Thermal CorkShield™’s volume is air. This translates to a lower density; approx. between 0.12-0.24 quartz/ lb.
7. Does it fade?
We have found that our colours fade less than 1% each year. That’s right! – our colours stick around longer than traditional paint and stucco that can lose up to 5-10% of their vibrancy each year.
8. Is it breathable or waterproof?
